The Geolat Mondial Jewelry Brokerage Process incorporates Geolat's proprietary Private Treaty Auction™ system. Here's how the process works:
Geolat Mondial Jewelry Brokerage Process
- Jewelry, gems or fine timepieces may be delivered to the Geolat offices, or we can arrange to have the merchandise collected.
- The owners of the merchandise complete appropriate paperwork, releasing the items to Geolat, and providing an insurance value for each piece.
- All items are photographed and catalogued at our offices.
- To ensure owners’ anonymity, we give individual pieces a code and tag and they are securely packaged.
- The pieces are then personally shown to a vast network of jewelry professionals, through the Geolat Private Treaty Auction™ system. Each bidder has the opportunity to submit a private offer on each piece. This information is not shared with any other bidder and is solely obtained by an agent of Geolat.
- We use great discretion in showing merchandise. If owners’ would prefer that the jewelry not be shown to certain individuals, or in certain geographic areas, these requests will be honored meticulously.
- Once the bidding is complete, the offers are compiled and top bids are discussed with owners, to determine if an offer is acceptable.
- If agreed, Geolat will send owners a check within 15 days of the sale.
- If not agreed, owners will be given three options:
- We may pursue new bids
- We may negotiate with the highest bidders on an owner’s behalf
- The valuables may be returned.
