Frequently Asked Questions About Geolat Companies Appraisal Services.

 Q.  Will I take my appraisal home with me?

 A.  No. You will receive your written appraisal complete with digital photographs as a secured PDF via
e-mail (or as hard copy sent by US mail, should you prefer) within 7-10 business days. 


 Q.  Do I have to leave my jewelry?

 A.  Not necessarily. You may schedule an appointment and  wait for the evaluation of your items to be completed. Difficult-to-identify gemstones may require that the item be left with us so that the proper research can be done and an accurate appraisal completed.


 Q.  Do you have to take the stones out of the mounting to perform the appraisal?

 A.  Under most circumstances, no.  If there is a concern about the quality of the piece (compared to the purchase description) however, we may ask your permission to do so. 


 Q.  How much will my appraisal cost?

 A.  Our fees are based on time. If you would like an exact dollar amount, you may ask for a quote before your appraisal begins. One way to economize is to bring all available paperwork (receipts, guarantees, etc.) to our office with your items. This will reduce the amount of research we’ll need to do, saving you time and money.


 Q.  What should I bring to my appraisal Appointment?

 A.  Any receipts, certification, old appraisals or miscellaneous information that you may have. 


 Q.  I have a lot of pieces.  Can you come to me?

 A. Evaluating jewelry items requires sophisticated equipment and a controlled environment.  In the interest of accuracy, we strongly prefer to have you bring your items to our office.  For larger art and residential contents appraisals, we’re happy to discuss our on-site options.


 Q.  If If I have jewelry that I would like to sell, can you help me? 

 A.  Yes!   


 Q.  What payment methods do you accept? 

 A.  Visa, MasterCard and checks are gladly accepted.
